Happy new year, all!

I finished my sister's stole, but did not get pictures of it. My grandparents were both thrilled with the doily I crocheted, and I shocked my grandpa by revealing to him that Grandma taught me to crochet like 12 years ago. He had no idea. It's on their dining room table. :D

Otherwise Christmas was kind of a bust for me, and for a good week, I wanted to dropkick my sister through a plate glass window. GUESS WHO ISN'T GOING TO BE IN HER WEDDING PARTY? I don't want to rehash it, but in the interest of completeness, read my posts here. Also in the interest of completeness, it was revealed the next day that my parents are willing to buy me a dress dummy, but didn't feel it was necessary to tell me that. Just to leave me looking at my siblings' presents, going, "One of these things is not like the other." OK, I'll just be over here with my ugly purse. Note: It's not the fact that I didn't get tons of presents that had me upset, but that I was pretty much ignored by, um, everybody.

Some of you might know that the Danish National Museum's big thing on extant garments has been down for the past couple weeks. The reason? They've put up some new garments and some of them have patterns. Unfortunately, there's no index of updates, so you'll have to go through all of the items to see the new ones. A trial, I know. :p

Also on the Danish Museum front, I've recruited the greatest minds of the internet to help me with the text on the knitted lace dress. My next step is to draft up a letter to the museum itself.

I would also like to announce that I have reached 100 posts on Ravelry. Obviously a hallmark of excellence in knitting blather. I will celebrate with a second cup of coffee, very strong and black.

And, yes, I'm listening to Garth Brooks right now for real.
