1. Comment on this post.
2. I will give you a letter.
3. Think of 5 fictional characters and post their names and your comments on these characters in your LJ.

[livejournal.com profile] marymont gave me X. [livejournal.com profile] marymont is mean.

1. Xerxes -- Whoa there before you say he was real. I highly doubt the the real Xerxes had anything in common with the Xerxes in 300. The Xerxes I have in mind is pretty damned fabulous. Not many folks can get away with wearing that much gold.

2. Xander from Buffy -- Kind of annoying, really. Thought I did find his sections of the musical episode highly entertaining.

3. X-Men -- They are mutants. Really cool mutants. I kind of have a crush on Beast, which weirds me out, because he's covered in blue fur and is, you know, more animal than man. But wouldn't he be an awesome date? Way better than Gambit, who is a little alpha. No amount of Cajun accent can fix that.

4. [Charles] Xavier -- The leader of the X-Men. He has a levitating wheelchair, because he was paralyzed when an alien dropped a boulder on him. (No, really. I just read it in Wikipedia, and I trust Wikipedia to know this sort of thing.)

5. Xilonen -- Aztec goddess of corn. (Ha! Spanish minor represent!) I'm just going to quote the Wikipedia page here: "Every September a young girl representing Chicomecoatl was sacrificed. The priests decapitated the girl, collected her blood and poured it over a figurine of the goddess. The corpse was then flayed and the skin was worn by a priest." Interesting, huh? I was just reading in Food in History by Reay Tannahill that the Spanish conquistadors were really disturbed by Aztec human sacrifice and cannibalism when they encountered it, despite the almost endless executions that happened in Spain.

I did not know that's why he was in a wheelchair. Interesting.

You have no idea how close The Xenon came to being a character. And then I remembered the Aztecs!

Your letter is O.

....The current storyline says that he's in a wheelchair because of his telepathic abilities overtaking the neuron pathways in his brain causing the paralysis....

I don't actually read the comics, but that is also an interesting way to not be able to walk anymore.

Would you like a letter? :)
