I haven't from there, but I have samples from practically every single other place on the web. jandofabrics.com had the nicest (unless you're looking for something lightweight, it was the heaviest, with the least amount of costumey luster). I don't think I could say "it could be silk" about any of the poly satins in person, but in pictures, the texture & lustre was identical to the silk I ended up getting (but I couldn't get the same spectrum of color to reflect off the poly, which was the thing I actually needed for this particular project, hence the silk).
Sara, I love that you are so dedicated to detail on your Dr. Who project. It's going to be awesome.
Thanks for the info on the other fabric site. I'm looking for something that doesn't scream "cheap poly satin!" which is something that's hard to see on the internet.
I just realized they don't call it "duchess satin" at that site. I got a sample of the L'Amour satin, and what I love is that their sample cuts were a full 1/8 yard cut, so you can actually see how it drapes.
The cheapest looking (and cheapest priced) I found was Sy Fabrics, in case you're shopping around and come across them.
