Ha. Have you looked at the dresses on S&S Patterns? Those necklines are a good six inches above Regency standards of decency. And what's a Regency dress without boobs?

I know. Jane Austen kicked all sorts of butt, in so many ways. The women in her novels are outspoken and intelligent (well, except for when they're dumb), and don't limit themselves to narrowly proscribed roles. Even more, Jane Austen helped support herself and her mother with her writing, at a time when that sort of thing was very scandalous.

Just argh. ARGH.
