Whoa! You are like the third person to ask me about dummies this summer, just because of that sew_hip post.

I did get a Uniquely You form, and I like it a lot. Fitting the cover is challenging, and it helps to have a partner who knows what they're doing. It's holding up really well, even though I shove pins into it all the time.

The only thing I'd change about my Uniquely You dummy is that I'm short and petite, so there are some measurements that don't match my body's and aren't going to without a custom dummy. Like the distance from above bust measurement to the top of the shoulder is too long on the dummy, and my shoulders are lots narrower. That just means that I need to fit my draped toiles on my body and adjust those elements on my body, which I'd have to do anyway.

I think if I didn't do historical costuming, and so needed to have a form that was "corsetable", I'd look into getting a My Twin. But since I don't do much modern sewing, I don't know if it would fit my needs, and it's not really a mistake I want to make for $150.

Unless you're a professional seamstress and need to fit a wide range of sizes, I'd recommend staying away from the adjustable, dial dummies. And, honestly, if you are a professional seamstress, I'm sure there's a better option than a Dritz! :P I'm definitely pleased with my Uniquely You, and I think it would work well for lots of people.
