[livejournal.com profile] aesiron complained that I hadn't posted a picture for 365 in a while, to which I say ha! I am gross, guys. I've got pimples from spending so much time sleeping and a chapped nose from blowing it so much and big dark circles under my eyes from sleeping in half-hour cycles. Also, I haven't waxed my upper lip in like three weeks, so I have a moustache. I can't let the world see me like this.

Yes, I realize I am a big vain thing. Carly Simon? Wrote a song about me before I was even born. What I am about to post will not remove this impression.

Instead of giving you a picture of my bloodshot eye, as I told [livejournal.com profile] aesiron I was going to do, or the pile of Kleenexes and utter destruction of my room, I offer up a picture of me knitting in San Francisco when I was there for the undergrad research conference last spring. While it snowed over a foot in Wisconsin (in April!), I was enjoying temperatures in the 60s and 70s, while locals told us all that it was unseasonably cold. Whatever, crazy San Franciscans. I wasn't wearing long underwear, and that was wonderful.

Approximately 15 minutes before this was taken, I was stretching out my legs because, damn, walking in business casual hurts. A college-aged guy walked by, staring at me, and narrowly avoided walking into a garbage can. (Or was it a picnic table?) Nothing like that has happened before, and I doubt it will happen again. It was bizarre.

Also, my five year high school reunion is this summer. WHAT?

I have already resolved to wear a cocktail dress, regardless of where it's held. Bowling alley? Cocktail dress! Restaurant? Cocktail dress and cocktail ring! VFW? Cocktail dress, cocktail ring, and cocktail hat! The high school gym? Cocktail dress, cocktail ring, cocktail hat, and MANY cocktails!

Oh my god, so many cocktails.

I learn something new every day. Today I learned that diet Sunkist soda has caffeine in it. A lot of caffeine. I learned this after drinking two bottles of it after 7 pm, over the course of about 6 hours.

My heart is going like a jackhammer. I'm actually a little jittery and punchy, and I can't hold still. Is this how people who take speed feel? Because if it is, then I don't see the attraction.

Stupid orange soda! Why did you have to be on sale? I should have gotten Fresca.

This morning I had the most amazing bedhead I have had in weeks. Usually I wake up and my hair doesn't look much different than it does when brushed, but today it was completely out of control. The part was on the wrong side, I had serious volume, and tousled does not even begin to cover the state of my locks.

([livejournal.com profile] aesiron, I hope this contents you.)

Also, I found this 1860s spencer on Ravelry today, and I want it. (Flickr link) I'm beginning to think that entering into Civil War reenactment is becoming an inevitability.

Another boring evening in the house, because I'm still not cleared to work outside. Not until my phlegminess is gone.
