So, last night, I washed and dried the damask, and when I pulled it out of the dryer, it was still a bit damp. I draped it over pretty much everything in my bedroom to dry overnight. Went and did other things, and when I came back into my room this is what I discovered.

I caught you! Cat! What do you think you're doing?

Oh, I see.

I left him alone and went to wash my face and brush my teeth before bed, and when I came back, he was gone. So, I shut the door and turned off the lights and climbed into bed. But then I heard . . . snortling. Like the way Gus breathes when he's very contented. He doesn't purr; he snortles. I looked around for him and found him, exactly where I did not want him.

Bad cat!

I should have known better than to drape it over the dummy. One of the great delights of his life is hiding under hoopskirts and big skirts when they're on the dummy. Sometimes just chilling, and sometimes ready to leap out and attack unwary bystanders. There have been many, many times when I've been fussing with a bodice, and my foot is suddenly patted by a paw, which then vanishes under the skirt. Or he'll lay under a skirt, with his big ol' butt sticking out, thinking that no one can see him, because his head is covered.

Silly kitty.
