Mine was bolted and screwed on. Once I unscrewed everything, it popped right off. It had a plywood base that I could staple into. I managed to get the cover for the seat back on, but the back was too thick, so I just glued a piece of fabric over it. I need to buy some upholstery braid or ribbon to cover the join.
