Dear non-friended friends . . .

I have about five people who have friended me but I have not friended back because I do not recognize your names! I friends-lock the vast majority of my posts, so it appears that I post maybe twice a month. (I'm probably underestimating this.) I dunno, there was a Russian invasion a couple months ago and I went into Cold War lockdown. I have no idea why. It made me paranoid. I bought canned goods and built a bunker.

So, friends who are unfriended, namely [livejournal.com profile] fireflykiwi, [livejournal.com profile] kegzilla, [livejournal.com profile] lirianna, [livejournal.com profile] trinawaidler and [livejournal.com profile] voske, tell me about yourselves. How did you find my journal? Why did you friend me? I have no state secrets, just so you know. And my finger certainly isn't on the pulse of America's youth.

(Friended friends, you don't have to do this. I know I'm on your friends lists because I smell delicately of raspberries and cool green grass and my lyricism makes grown men weep tears of profound sorrow and joy, all at once -- an admixture of poignant proportions.)

(I can hear you guys laughing from here. It's OK. I have that effect on people. *patpat*)

Dude. WTF is going on with the friending from suspended LJs? I have *two* of those now, and it doesn't make me much happier than the Mystery Russian Invasion did.

That's just me lacking typing skills and not previewing entries. [livejournal.com profile] lirianna is on the up and up.

*grump*

I just got another one, just now. Bastards.

Aha ! So it's not just me being awfully paranoid : i went back to friend only some weeks ago because of that.

It's so not you. There were like four mysterious Russians who had friended me at one point. So I stopped friending people for a while and locked most of my posts.

[identity profile] lirianna.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, that's annoying... I think I am going to log out and back in to LJ. :/

[identity profile] lirianna.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Hello from the suspended LJ account holder!! :D

Okay, it's not suspended... the name has two "n"s instead of one. So... I'm actually here and am a real person that doesn't write offensively or blatantly disregard the LJ TOS. Yay, me! :)

Second, a bit about me. I am someone who has been sewing since I was a child. I have made my own clothing, my kids' clothing, curtains, bedclothes, costumes, dolls, EVERYTHING. I am in the SCA and love to read about costume creation and design. One of my favorite shows is "Project Runway" for that very reason. I think I found you a long time ago from a post in [livejournal.com profile] dressdiaries or somesuch and watched your unlocked posts for awhile and eventually friended you.

Oh, and it's that weird mixture of the smell of raspberries and green grass that probably hooked me. LOL I am currently an English Writing major and thoroughly enjoy reading lyricism... hoping to be wow'd!! :D

Agh! Sorry. I corrected the mistake last night, and then had to get off the internet before I could reply to your comment. Would you believe that I'm actually known for being anal-retentive about things like that in real life?

Yay! You sound cool. I used to study English lit with the intention of becoming a professor/doing literary criticism, but then realized I could not do that for the rest of my life.

Lyricism? OK, stop me if you've heard this one.

O mistress mine, where are you roaming?
Oh, stay and hear! your true Love's coming.
That can sing both high and low:
Trip no further, pretty sweeting;
Journeys end in lovers' meeting,
Every wise man's son doth know.

Ta da!

[identity profile] beraht.livejournal.com 2008-10-01 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
Your lyricism. Yeah.

And the raspberries and cool green grass. Don't forget those!

[identity profile] lifeonwry.livejournal.com 2008-10-01 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
There's lyricism? Raspberries? Cool green grass?

Damn. I was hoping for cookies.

[identity profile] crazycatlady76.livejournal.com 2008-10-01 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
Hell, I was hoping for pictures of her bridesmaid dress disintegrating.

And more raspberries. Maybe some blackberries and vanilla to round things out.

It hasn't fallen apart yet. I'm still waiting for my sister to reply to my e-mail. I'm sure she's swamped, though.

[identity profile] troubleagain.livejournal.com 2008-10-01 12:10 pm (UTC)(link)
But....I don't like raspberries. But I do like you. ::brain assplodes::

Actually, I found you through ravelry... I'm fireflykiwi....in the steamy stitches group. :)

Cool! Glad to know you're a real person. :D

Hello!

I liked your posts on [livejournal.com profile] costume_snark and your name intrigued me, so I looked you up on and find you had made a great aviator hat pattern.

So, I'm interested in knitting and vintage/historical clothes. I'm also a freelance editor, a history nut, an information junkie, an academic sf&fantasy geek and a voracious reader. I studied Liberal Arts with degrees in Women's Studies and Celtic Studies.

And I'm actually not Russian but Dutch. Honest.

Ravelry I mean.

Show me your wooden shoes and I'll believe it! :P

Speaking of the aviator cap pattern, I'm going to re-release it, because there are significant typos in it. So, if you're planning on knitting it, you might want to hold off until I get the new version out there. :/ Next week, probably.

So, hey, you sound cool, too! Thank you for letting me know about you.
